| For the Performer ‘Acting for the Camera’ Class Open Stage of Harrisburg will offer an “Acting for the Camera” class for students ages 16 thru adult March 22 through May 10. Registration is now open. Classes will be held in the street level of the Walnut Street Parking Garage and will be taught by actor/producer Johntrae Williams. This class allows the actor to explore a complete process in analysis, thought, behavior, action, truth and emotional commitment as it relates to acting on film. Enrollment is limited. Tuition is $200. For more information, please call Open Stage at 717.214.3250. Arts & Culture The legendary Woodstock performer and one of the most recognizable voices of popular music, Richie Havens, will perform at 8 pm tonight (Friday, January 22nd) at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC. The show will open with Harry Manx. Tickets are $32 for adults and $15 for students. Call the Rose Lehrman Box Office at 717.231.ROSE. Cuartetango The pulsating verve of Argentine tango comes alive with the Curatetango Ensemble. The performance combines sweltering, high voltage tango dancing with equally dramatic live music and song. The show will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday, January 28th at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center. Tickets are $32 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $15 for students. Call the Rose Lehrman Box Office at 717.231.ROSE. We are Made for Music The Harrisburg Men’s Chorus will perform on Saturday, January 23rd at 8pm and Sunday, January 24th at 2 pm at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center. The performance entitled “We are Made for Music” will feature a mix of Vivaldi and Schubert with a bit of Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. Add a dash of Disney, blend in equal amounts of Joseph Martin, Mark Hayes and Greg Gilpin. Lace it with a splash of solos and surprises. Shake things up with a 1960’s medley and you have a wonderful mid-winter tonic. Don’t miss it! Tickets are $15. Around the World Join the International House as they present Understanding the World: Middle East Series. On Thursday, January 28, IHouse will present “Do Americans understand Islam and the forces of change in the Middle East?” The event is hosted by Harrisburg University and will kick off with networking at 5:30 pm followed by the program at 6 pm.
